Since then she has contributed to various publications and taken part in conferences and events including The Edinburgh Book Festival. She is the author of 'Painted Faces, A Colourful History of Cosmetics' and 'Common and Uncommon Scents, A Social History of Perfume.' Susan lives in the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh with her husband and two dogs.
