It's Time to Play the Long Game in Healing Family Relationships
Parents vs. Adult Children is aimed at healing some of the divide that can exist in relationships when people within a family see things so differently that it starts to impact the relationship.
Dan Seaborn focuses specifically on the way this dynamic can lead to distance between parents and their adult children. Seaborn's ministry, Winning at Home, conducted surveys and received great feedback from a number of people in their fifties and sixties, as well as a number of people in their twenties and thirties, to inform their research. Taking those survey responses, Seaborn shows readers how to navigate major differences of opinion between loved ones, approaching these areas of difference from both a biblical and a psychological perspective.

Dan Seaborn, M.A., is the founder and president of Winning At Home, an organization that supports marriages and families. As an author, speaker, and leader of the Marriage and Family Network of AACC, Dan uses humor, practical illustrations, and real-life examples to teach others how to win at home. He has authored several books, including Winning at Home: Tackling the Topics that Confuse Kids and Scare Parents, and holds a master’s degree in Christian ministries.
Dr. Peter Newhouse is the executive director of Winning At Home and the founder of Winning At Home Counseling Centers. He also oversees Corporate Counseling and the WAH Network. He has been serving in the counseling field for more than thirty-two years and offers sound principles for everyday living that guide people toward healing outcomes. He has authored and co-authored several books and lectures and speaks on a variety of topics. As an expert in the field of human relations, he enjoys providing practical solutions for communication/conflict management, depression, anxiety, anger management, pastoral/missionary care, PTSD, marriage/premarital, and a variety of other relationship topics. He seeks to help people know themselves and embrace who God designed them to be. Peter has been married to his wife, Shawn Maree, for over thirty-four years. They enjoy being a part of their three adult children and three grandchildren’s lives as they journey through each stage.
Alan Seaborn is a pastor and author. He is committed to helping bring harmony to parent-child relationships. As Dan’s oldest son, Alan is uniquely positioned to get this message out. By sharing stories from Scripture and the world around him, he shares about the things that are close to God’s heart—our attitudes and the decisions we make—all viewed through the lens of a family relationship. He has been married to Annaliese for more than ten years. They live in Holland with their two dogs and enjoy being outside as much as possible.
Steve Norman is a gifted speaker who has spent over thirty years serving as a church planter, teaching pastor, and lead pastor. Steve uses humor, storytelling, practical illustrations, and his own personal experiences to communicate his messages. He holds a Doctorate of Missiology from Fuller Seminary and is passionate about helping individuals, families, churches, and businesses take the next step in their growth and development. Steve and his wife, Kelly, have been married for twenty-five years and reside in West Michigan with their son, three daughters, and their bernedoodle, Chewie.
