About Dorothy Bentley Smith

Dorothy is an author tour guide lecturer and accredited poet with a passion for Macclesfields local history the town which she and her late husband adopted in 1967. A former member of the Spode Society Trustee of Christ Church and area representative for the Churches Conservation Trust (2006-2013) and now Trustee for the Stanley & Brocklehurst Almshouses and Chair of Macclesfield Heritage Forum she continues her journey through the towns 1000 years of fascinating history.
