“A project must leave an ""enriched"" place after its construction. The architect shapes matter as an extension of nature by means of geometry as a link between tangible reality and the world of ideas. Architecture must be aesthetically desirable, constructively reasonable and socially justifiable. Architecture has to function, to respond to needs within economic and social parameters, to use all possible techniques, but never as an end in itself, but as a means to achieve higher goals. Our job as architects is to build exterior spaces so that people can come into contact with their interior space”.
Architect Patrick Genard was born in Namur, Belgium in 1954. He graduated in 1978 from the University of Louvain. In 1978 he joined the “Taller de Arquitectura” of Ricardo Bofill where he was Conceptual Director on international projects such as the “Swift” headquarters in Brussels, the Paribas Bank headquarters in central Paris, the “World Project” shopping centre in Tokyo and the “Twin Centre” office towers in Casablanca. In 1994 he founded his own architecture, urban planning and interior design studio in Barcelona with associated offices in Brussels and Paris.
