F.I.R.E. is the acronym used for the study. This mnemonic (or memory) device stands for familiarity, interpretation, relationship, and employment. The author uses all four of these steps each time the reader travels through a section of Scripture. The twenty-one chapters in Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians on F.I.R.E. explore the book of Ephesians beginning with the riches of the believer as espoused in the first major division (1:1–3:21) and explicates the second major division concerning how the saints are to practice their position (4:1–6:21).
About Dr. Ken J. Burge | Ken J. Burge
Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr. is a biblical scholar, pastor, and author of ten books. With a desire to be able to translate each passage of the Bible from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek languages, Ken earned five Bible degrees sitting at the feet of many scholars that led to the fulfillment of his dream. The capstone of his education came from earning his Doctorate of Ministry from the Dallas Theological Seminary where he learned to take his language training and develop biblical lessons for laypersons. He created the Ken J. Burge, Sr. Foundation to extend his training to English speakers outside of the United States in places like the Philippines, India, and Africa. Through both the spoken word (via YouTube) and the written word in the F.I.R.E. series, he shares his extensive education with others in a comprehensible fashion. Ken has pastored the Colmar Manor Bible Church for 31 years. He resides with his wife in Riverdale, Maryland.
