When little Penguin finds a lost pinecone in the snow, an unlikely friendship blossoms. But Grandpa reminds Penguin that pinecones don't belong in the cold - they need to be in the warm forest far away. Although he will miss his friend, Penguin returns Pinecone to his proper home.

Penguin dreams of a reunion with his friend and when they do meet again, he's surprised to find that Pinecone has grown bigger and taller than he ever could have imagined!

This story of a friendship that endures and grows over time, despite distance, will ring true for readers of all ages. Illustrator Salina Yoon's spare text and bright, energetic illustrations bring this wonderful character to life, ensuring that readers will be clamouring for more Penguin stories.

Salina Yoon is an award-winning author-illustrator of nearly two hundred books for children, including Duck, Duck, Porcupine!, the Penguin series, the Bear and Floppy series, and Be a Friend. She studied art and design at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and now lives in San Diego with her family. She is also the illustrator of Marie Kondo's picture book, Kiki & Jax: the Life-Changing Magic of Friendship, which shares the joy of tidying up with young readers.
