This is the second of two volumes detailing Pennsylvania’s battalions and line during the American Revolutionary War from 1775 to 1783.

John Blair Linn (1831–1899) was a Pennsylvania lawyer, historian, and author of numerous Pennsylvania local histories.

William Henry Egle (1830–1901) was a Pennsylvania physician and author of numerous Pennsylvania local histories. He served as the Pennsylvania state librarian from 1887 to 1898.
