A plane carrying a mother and her baby plunges into the Colombian jungle. A solo pilot’s aircraft goes down in shark-infested waters. Two people who barely know each other crash-land in the Canadian wilderness. These remarkable true tales could have ended in tragedy... but they didn’t! What happened to these people when their planes went down? And how did they survive to tell their tales? Young readers will find out in this easy-to-read hi-lo graphic novel that will keep them on the edge of their seats!
Jarred Lujan is a Mexican-American comic writer from the borderlands of Texas. He’s a 2019 Mad Cave Studios Talent Search winner and a member of the inaugural 2022 DC Milestone Initiative class. Aside from writing, Jarred spends his time trying to convince his cats to be nice to him (his dog remains as loyal as ever). After sinking a huge chunk of their childhood into games like Starcraft and Age of Empires, Alex initially set their sights on becoming a video game concept artist, but fell in love with children’s book illustration while studying illustration at the University of Lincoln. They have a passion for all things science fiction thanks to their love of video games and many all-night marathons of Doctor Who and Mystery Science Theatre 3000 as a student. Alex finds the real-world history behind these worlds fascinating and has relished bringing the achievements of historical heroes to life in their art. They now live in Brighton amongst a growing collection of modded retro games consoles, and two mischievous cats, Zira and Crowley.
