Tor Freeman was born and educated in London, and graduated from Kingston University with a BA in Illustration in 1999. Tor has been working as a freelance illustrator, author and comics-maker ever since.
She was awarded a Sendak Fellowship in 2012, and was the winner of the Observer/Cape/Comica Graphic Short Story prize in 2017. Tor has illustrated several picture books and young chapter books, written her own stories and been published in the UK and internationally. She is a regular contributor to magazines and had two ongoing strips in the weekly story comic, The Phoenix. Tor lives and works in London.
