He served as President of the International Society of Electrochemistry and, with Bernard Tribollet, received the 2019 Claude Gabrielli Award for contributions to electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. He teaches professional short courses on impedance spectroscopy internationally.

Bernard Tribollet is Director of Research Emeritus at Laboratoire Interfaces et Systèmes Electrochimiques, Sorbonne Université, Paris and a Fellow of the Electrochemical Society. He instructs a bi-annual short course at Sorbonne Université covering theoretical aspects and hands-on instrumentation training for impedance spectroscopy. He has promoted the extension of impedance spectroscopy to electrohydrodynamic, electromagnetic, and thermoelectric transfer-function techniques. With Mark E. Orazem, he received the 2019 Claude Gabrielli Award for contributions to electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
