ARNOLD WENTHOLT has been working in the field of Indonesian arts for close to three decades and authored numerous books, articles and scholarly papers including the much praised, Highlights from Museum Nusantara Delft (2014), the last book published about this important museum dedicated to Indonesian arts. Wentholt is well versed in other tribal arts from around the world and worked as guest curator for exhibitions at the Tropenmuseum, now the Wereldmuseum Amsterdam in 2003, Afrika Museum in 2008 and the Nusantara Delft Museum in 2014. A resident of Leiden, he is still active as an independent scholar and art appraiser and consultant.
BRUCE W. CARPENTER is an acknowledged expert in the fields of Indonesian art, culture and history. A long time expatriate, he has authored and co-authored scores of articles and more than twenty titles on various subjects. His most recent book, Masks of Bali (2023), is a landmark study of the history of masks, as well as living mask dance traditions co-authored with Prof. I Made Bandem. In addition to research and writing, Carpenter has curated several museum exhibitions including the design for the Heritage Gallery for Saka, a new Balinese museum in Jimbaran. He currently resides in Sanur, Bali.
