James Jennings is Professor of Political Science and Director of the William Monroe trotter Institute at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. His earlier books include From Access to Power (with Mel King) and Puerto Rican Politics in Urban America (with Monte Rivera), and The Politics of Black Empowerment.
