Ruth Miskin is one of the UKs leading authorities on teaching children to read. She has many years experience as a head teacher, teacher trainer and consultant in phonics and literacy, working with primary and secondary schools throughout the UK. Ruth has been an adviser to the government on many aspects of literacy teaching since 1997. Her work has been featured both by Newsnight on BBC2 and Dispatches on Channel 4. Ruth was awarded an OBE for services to Education in 2011. Adrian Bradbury has been writing books and texts for children since 2006. He has written eleven books, both fiction and non-fiction, and well over 100 texts for reading schemes. Previously, he travelled the world teaching English but is now settled in Devon. As well as writing, he teaches Music in a primary school. Alison Hawes has been writing books for schools and libraries since 1998.
