This story is part of Reading Champion, a series carefully linked to book bands to encourage independent reading skills, developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education (IOE)

In Mo and the Snow, we meet teacher Mo as he tries to get to school on a very snowy day. His car is stuck. The bus is stuck. Even the horse won't come outside. Luckily, there might just be another way!

Reading Champion offers independent reading books for children to practise and reinforce their developing reading skills.

Fantastic, original stories are accompanied by engaging artwork and a reading activity. Each book has been carefully graded so that it can be matched to a child's reading ability, encouraging reading for pleasure. Perfect for 4-5 year olds or those reading book band pink 1B.

Hilary Robinson (Author)
Hilary Robinson is the author of over 40 children's books including the top selling Mixed Up Fairy Tales and The Copper Tree. She is also a broadcaster and freelance BBC radio producer. Hilary was born in Devon and brought up in Nigeria and England. Her books have been translated into a number of languages and are sold across the world.

Gabriel San Martin (Illustrator)
Gabriel San Martin is Argentinian and currently lives in Madrid, Spain. He's an illustrator specializing in children's books - a world he loves because it lets him break rules, create crazy and fun universes and lets his imagination run wild. He always likes to add a touch of humour to his characters, and of course, lots of colour.
When he's not drawing, he enjoys hanging out in a café with a good book. He's a big fan of historical novels, and he also loves playing and spending time with his partner and kids.
Whenever he works, he always has music playing or he's listening to a documentary or podcast about history or spirituality. And, of course, one of his cats is always nearby keeping him company.
