A kind king in a far off land has been hiding his ears from everyone in his kingdom - even his wife, the queen! He has horse's ears on his head and he is afraid everyone will laugh if they find out... Until a magical violin changes everything! For Independent Reading at White Band 10, readers aged 5-7 years.

This story is part of Reading Champion, a series carefully linked to book bands to encourage independent reading skills, developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education (IOE).

She has loved to read comics and picture books ever since she was a kid, and was also really excited to mimic the styles of her favorite comic book artists. So a long time ago, she began her dreams of becoming an illustrator. She kept practicing and learning from inference through books, the internet, and her artist friends. The freelancer environment improved and completed her art style. She still has a long way to go, but she hopes her work can one day inspire and motivate people to a better life. She likes to listen to some music while working. It helps her focus, and some tunes really inspire great ideas for her art pieces. She love cats and now has two kitties at home. She believes that having a pet is truly a way to perfect your life.
