Mike Carey, also known by his pen name M. R. Carey, is a British writer, recognized for his work in comic books, novels, and films. He is best known for writing the acclaimed series Lucifer, a significant run on Hellblazer, and contributions to X-Men: Legacy, along with his novel The Girl with All the Gifts and its film adaptation.

Michael Avo Oeming was born in El Paso, Texas and is a comic book penciller and writer as well.He is known for using a stark art style to tell stories with sophisticated and mature subject matter. He began his carrier drawing Norse Gods as he is a fan of the norse mythology but used to arm wrestle as well.

His comic book debut story, Bulletproof Monk was his first project and had been criticaly aclaimed and was made into a movie.

He is also known for his work on:  Powers, United States of Murder Incorporated, Mice Templar, Hammer of the Gods, Rapture, and Thor.
