Reggie On a Sledgie follows Little Pip and her mischievous kitten, Reggie, as they discover that their winter garden hides a fantastical secret.
One snowy morning, Reggie darts under the hedge, and when Pip crawls after him, she finds herself in a magical winter forest glittering with frost, quiet skies, and snow-speckled trees. Before they can take in the wonder, chaos bursts through the stillness in the form of a high-speed sledge driven by a daring old lady named Ruth—famed for her missing tooth—and her loyal goat, Goose.
Ruth, a decorated former champion of winter sports, is spirited, swift, and perhaps a bit reckless. She welcomes Pip and Reggie warmly, offering Pip a coat and to teach them “the ropes” of sledging. Reggie eagerly hops aboard, but Pip hesitates at the edge of a steep slope. As she steps away, she doesn’t realize the sledge has already started sliding—with Reggie still on it.
The runaway ride sends Reggie hurtling through the forest, along snow-thickened paths and past startled woodland creatures, including the mysterious Googley Eyed Cat. With Reggie losing control and the slope growing steeper, Ruth and Goose race after him on their own sledge. In a flurry of snow, speed, and daring teamwork, they manage to rescue the frightened but exhilarated little cat.
Reunited at last, Pip hugs Reggie tightly, relieved he’s safe. Ruth, impressed by Reggie’s newfound steering instincts, encourages Pip to try again—this time with Reggie confidently leading the way. Mustering her courage, Pip climbs aboard. With Ruth’s countdown and a mighty push, Pip and Reggie zoom down the slope together, fear melting into delight as they fly through the winter air.
When the adventure winds down, Pip and Reggie return through the hedge to their own garden, tired, happy, and ready for tomorrow’s new discoveries.

“I have many childhood memories of making up and performing silly rhymes, songs and stories, even before I started school. These days I find I am inspired with poetry ideas when I am out running. I can’t jot down the verses until I get home so to help me remember the lines I keep repeating the words out loud as I huff and puff up and down hills, I must sound truly insane.
"I love how poetry encourages rebellion, experimentation, freedom and so much more.”
