Having been in the Rabbinical field for several decades has given me the opportunity of studying the spiritual needs of the community. These findings, consequently, and my conclusions have persuaded me to publish this book. It is written in a popular language, without unnecessary verbosity, which can sometimes cause difficult reading to the layman. The subjects which are dealt with in this book are what is known as the bread and butter of Judaism: festivals, customs, Barmitzvot and weddings. - Rabbi N. L. Marcus
Rabbi Marcus studied in the famous Mirer Yeshiva in Poland, where he received Smicha, from the late Mirer Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi E. Y. Finkel and Rabbi S. Fine, the vice-chairman of the Rabbinical Association of Poland. He is the author of a number of other books, in Hebrew and Yiddish, as well as numerous newspaper articles. His books include Rejoicing and Happiness (1976) and Around the Tents of Torah (1973) which was favourably reviewed in various newspapers, including S. A. Jewish Times. It was also highly praised by leading rabbis in Israel, America and Great Britain.
