Nicole Cooley grew up in New Orleans and currently lives in Atlanta, where she is completing her Ph.D. in English. Her poems have appeared in Poetry, Field, Ploughshares, and The Nation, among other publications. She was awarded a ""Discovery""/The Nation Award in 1994.
