Featuring more than 140 of Rosie Sanders' glorious watercolour illustrations, Rosie Sanders' Apples is the most trusted authoritative guide to apple identification in the UK.

First published as The English Apple in 1988, this comprehensive guide depicts the range of form, texture, colour and shape characterising varieties such as Cox's Orange Pippin, the Worcester Pearmain, Granny Smith or the Blenheim Orange. Each apple illustration is accompanied by a short description, a cross-section drawing and a list of characteristics, from size and shape to seeds, stalk and leaves.

The meticulous attention to detail makes this the definitive guide to identification, as well as a source of inspiration for apple growers everywhere.

Rosie Sanders is an artist and the author of several books, including Rosie Sanders’ Flowers and Rosie Sanders' Roses. Her work has been displayed in many galleries, including the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art in Kew Gardens and the Park Walk Gallery since 2002. She has also been awarded five Gold medals by the Royal Horticultural Society and won the Royal Academy miniature award. Rosie currently lives in Devon where she gives residential and non-residential botanical painting courses.
