The author has committed part of his book’s proceeds to the preservation work of the National Route 66 Federation.

Acclaimed travel writer Rick Antonson is the author of ten books, including Full Moon Over Noah’s Ark: An Odyssey to Mount Ararat and Beyond, Train Beyond the Mountains: Journeys on the Rocky Mountaineer, and co-author of Slumach’s Gold: In Search of a Legend—and a Curse. He is the former chair of the board for the Destination International, based in Washington, DC, and was deputy chair for the Pacific Asia Travel Association, based in Bangkok, Thailand.
