Rowan Skysong and the Starfinders

Big Cat Read On supports fluent readers to improve their reading skills and nurture a love of reading. Consisting of a wide range of engaging chapter books, the Big Cat Read On series improves reading stamina and comprehension, develops vocabulary, and introduces children to more sophisticated narrative structures and themes.

Today is the biggest day of my life. It’s the test that will determine if my dream to be a Starfinder comes true, and I can finally be part of the team that explores the universe and maps out the stars. I’m sure I’ve got what it takes, but I’ve been partnered with Jazz Rodrigo, and that could ruin everything! We’re lost in a galaxy far from home. How can we find our way back when we hate working together?

As an autistic and ADHD author, Michelle Mohrweis strives to write stories showing neurodivergent kids getting to be themselves without shame. Michelle also loves all things space exploration, which is what led them to write Rowan Skysong and the Starfinders. Though Michelle may not live as far in the future as Rowan, they share a love of the stars, a wonder for what might be out there, and a drive to keep learning new things.
