Explore the variety of ways humans experience the holy through 150+ one-page biographies of notable masters from the world’s great spiritual traditions.

Key historical figures vividly come to life with pertinent biographical details presented in a readable, conversational style by a well-respected figure in the Episcopal Church.

Richard H. Schmidt has served as a parish priest in four Episcopal dioceses. He retired recently after serving as editor and director of Forward Movement and is now a popular retreat and workshop leader. He is the author of five other books. He lives in Fairhope, Alabama. Dean Mosher's epic historic paintings are on display in museums and public building around the country, including the Smithsonian Institute, the U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. He specializes in reconstructing naval battles and air flights and rendering them on large murals. He lives and works in his home and studio in Fairhope, Alabama, which he built by hand.
