The Author: Hugo G. Walter has a B.A. from Princeton University, an M.A. from Old Dominion University, a Ph.D. in literature from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary studies from Drew University. Professor of English and Humanities at Berkeley College in New York, Walter has written widely on European literature, including The Apostrophic Moment in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century German Lyric Poetry (Lang, 1988) and Space and Time on the Magic Mountain: Studies in Nineteenth- and Early- Twentieth-Century European Literature (Lang, 1999). In addition, Walter has published ten volumes of original poetry.
