‘Savaged Lands’ is an exciting and fascinating novel, offering non-stop action and delightfully escapist entertainment, and it also touches on current social and ecological issues.
In Europe, in the second half of the twenty-first century, national administrations have broken down and chaos takes place in almost every country. Northern Europe, where the climate has become more attractive and hospitable, offers hopes of survival.
Erick, a former soldier, having retreated into the northern tundra some years ago, teams up with a young woman, Elena, whom he has freed from slavery. Having heard about a mysterious biotech company in Paris, Erick and Elena embark on a perilous journey into the heartlands of the continent.
‘Savaged Lands’ is Michael Chapus’s first published novel. He is also the author of ‘Naked Thoughts’, a well-received volume of musings on the human condition. Michael was in the past a practising architect and in more recent years has worked as a visual artist and writer. Originally of German-French decent, Michael migrated to Australia in his early thirties and currently lives in northern New South Wales of Australia. His life’s goals aim for simplicity, frugality and being attuned to nature.
