Guido de Marco has been the President of Malta since April 1999. During his political career, he served as Deputy Prim e Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta and was also Leader of the House of Representatives. In 1990, Professor de M arco was elected President of the 45th Session of the United Nations General Assembly Michael Bartolo is the Ambassador of Malta to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva and Vienna. In addition to serving as principal advisor to Professor de Marco, when he was President of the United Nations General Assembly, Dr Bartolo, who recently retired from the United Nations, worked for 26 years in the Secretariat of the United Nations in New York.
