Lukas Bärfuss is a Swiss writer and playwright. His plays are performed worldwide and his novels have been translated into twenty languages. He was voted playwright of the year in the critic poll featured by the magazine Theater heute in 2005. In 2019, he won the Georg Büchner Prize, which is regarded as the most prestigious prize in German literature.  His translated play The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents premiered at the Gate Theatre, London, in 2017.
