Shakespeare’s Unmuted Women explores women’s speeches in selected plays by Shakespeare, highlighting women’s discerning insight as a vital ingredient in these selected works. The book discusses the use of rhetoric in speeches by women as a cementing material that supports the casing of the incidents. In Shakespeare’s selected plays, women’s insightfulness and perspicuity are closely considered to emphasize how women make efficient use of rhetoric, aptly used by Queen Elizabeth I during Shakespeare’s time. Gül Kurtuluş received her Ph.D. from Bilkent University where she taught drama courses from 1991 to 2023. She is the author of two books published in 2020 and 2022 respectively: Stereoscopic London: Plays of Oscar Wilde, Bernard Shaw and Arthur Wing Pinero in 1890s and Convention and Contravention in Ben Jonson's Three Comedies: Volpone, The Alchemist, and Bartholomew Fair.
