Learn how to harness the power of silence to find lasting happiness, purpose, and peace with the beloved mindfulness guide from the world's most revered Zen master.

‘Shows us the connection between personal, inner peace and peace on earth’ His Holiness The Dalai Lama

In today’s fast-paced, noisy world, we spend so much time searching for happiness that we forget the wonder already surrounding us.

But with burnout, stress, brain fog, and racing thoughts, our minds are often so busy that it can be hard to find a sense of self and belonging. To truly listen, and to reconnect with ourselves, we need silence.

In this beautifully written and deeply accessible guide, Buddhist monk and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Thich Nhat Hanh explains how mindfulness and meditation can quiet the noise in our minds and bring lasting calm.

With gentle anecdotes, simple Buddhist wisdom, and practical exercises, he shows us how to:

  • Cultivate a mindful life
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Reconnect with yourself and the world around you
  • Find clarity, compassion, and inner peace

A beautifully accessible introduction to mindfulness and meditation, Silence is an essential read for anyone seeking calm, balance and spiritual growth in a busy world.

Born in Hue, Vietnam, Thich Nhat Hanh was a Buddhist Zen Master, poet, scholar and human rights activist. In 1967, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King. He founded the Van Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon, the School of Youth and Social Service and the Plum Village Buddhist community and meditation centre in France, where he lived for many years. He was the author of many acclaimed books including The Miracle of Mindfulness, Old Path White Clouds and Fear, which have sold millions of copies around the world. In 2018, he returned to Vietnam to live at the Tu Hieu Temple, where he was first ordained when he was sixteen years old. He died on 22 January 2022, at the age of 95.
