Geraldine McCaughrean is the award-winning author of more than 170 books and 60 plus plays, including one for the radio about trawlers sinking. She has been published in 61 countries and her work has been translated into over 45 languages. Geraldine has been awarded many prizes including three Whitbread/Costa Children Book Awards and the Michael L. Printz Award and is a double Carnegie Medal winner. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked as a secretary, teacher, journalist and sub-editor.
