Transform small spaces to make a big difference.

Join activist Tayshan Hayden-Smith on his mission to turn grey, concrete jungles into green sanctuaries – planting seeds not only in the ground but also in minds to bring joy to people, places, and planet.

Small Space Revolution shares the amazing work of individuals and organizations around the world to inspire you to:

RECONNECT with community and the natural world
RETHINK how we teach the next generation and ourselves
REGENERATE the complex ecosystem beneath our feet
REWILD urban spaces and make way for nature to thrive
REPURPOSE materials for a waste-free world
RECHARGE to tune in to yourself, others, and your surroundings
REVOLUTIONIZE the way we live – action the change you want to see

Packed with simple ideas and practical projects – from choosing climbers for cover to repurposing plastics to build a greenhouse – discover how you can take action to transform your own personal or community space.

Tayshan Hayden-Smith is an activist, changemaker, community gardener, and passionate believer in people’s right to have access to nature and joy. Formerly a professional footballer, he sought to heal and inspire hope in his North Kensington community following the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire by initiating the Grenfell Garden of Peace. He now runs his own not-for-profit company Grow to Know. Tayshan is also part of the design team on BBC2’s Your Garden Made Perfect, and his garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022 won a Silver Gilt medal.
