Open your 'human body construction guide' to reveal the answers to all your puzzling human biology questions! Find out what each body system does and how they fit together to create a living, breathing person.

Styled as a construction guide, readers will explore the ten major body systems from the inside out – from your bones to your nerves! Each spread contains body part checklists and 'Don't forget' notes for key information, while a mini human body on each spread depicting the relevent body system works as a useful navigation tool when flicking through the book. The human engineer slant imparts STEM concepts for budding biologists and doctors. Prepare to get under the skin of the human body machine and find out what makes it tick.

Tom Jackson has written more than 80 books and contributed to hundreds more. His specialties are natural history, technology and all things scientific. Tom spends his days finding fun ways of communicating facts, new and old, to all age groups and reading abilities. Tom lives in Bristol, England, with his wife and three children. He studied zoology at Bristol University and has had spells working at zoos. Tom has also worked as a conservationist, which saw him planting trees in Somerset, surveying Vietnamese jungle and rescuing wildlife from drought-ridden Zimbabwe. Writing has also taken him to the Galápagos Islands, Amazon rainforest, coral reefs of Indonesia and Sahara Desert. Nowadays, he can be found mainly in the attic. Jan Bielecki is a Polish-Swedish illustrator and designer living in London. He mainly works with children's books and has illustrated fiction, picture books and non-fiction. Some of the topics he has covered include human anatomy, wrestling trolls, the scope of the Universe and slimy monsters.
