"Mummy Bear, you are so lovely," said a little cub one morning. "I want to be just like you." "One day you will," said the mummy bear. "But first we have memories to make, before you are full-grown." This stunning book celebrates the joyful times spent with a little one, and how these precious memories strengthen the foundations of a happy, healthy child. With stunning illustrations by Frances Ives and a lovely, lyrical text.
Stephanie Stansbie (Author) Stephanie has been a children's book editor, and then an author, for most of her adult life. She adores editing and writing in equal measure and has always worked on illustrated books, where the art is as important as the word. The books she has written have been translated into more than 15 different languages. Stephanie lives in Oxford, England, and enjoys goofing about with her family and friends, going to the theatre and chocolate porridge. Frances Ives (Illustrator) Frances Ives' love of all things drawing started in childhood, when she dived into an obsession with poster paints and making a big mess on every available surface. This hasn't changed much. She still works primarily in water-based media, but these days she mostly tries to keep it on the paper. Frances takes her inspiration from the structures and people that surround her, drawing from both observation and memory. Her most abiding source of inspiration is still the constant yet ever-changing sky, and all of its colours.
