I am a former teacher of 20 years, I competed internationally as an athlete representing Ireland in the hammer throw in the mid-1990s to early 2000s. My most recent roles were as a creative learning facilitator working with schools, young people and communities in the National Folk Theatre of Ireland Siamsa Tire.

Liên is a self-taught illustrator, working on children's books and book covers. Her art is inspired by the beauty of humans, animals, food and nature. Lien is the co-author and illustrator of My First Day and she is also the illustrator for The Fawn Who Chased the Sun, Hundred Years of Happiness. Lien lives in Vietnam with her tuxedo cat.
