The Star Namer and the Unchosen is the sequel to Shepherd, Potter, Spy and the Star Namer.
In Aijalon Valley, an epic battle pitted the forces of a despicable king against the army that brought down the most powerful city of Canaan with a shout, literally. On battlefield clean-up duty, the seventeen-year-old son of the master potter rescues a wounded friend-- the expert archer of Jerusalem forced to serve in the tyrant's army. While Eskie helps his friend return home and rescues his father from the dungeon, he fights an inner battle between his father's faith and his own self-reliance. Along the way, he gathers an unlikely band of heroes including the son of a thief, a deaf sandal-maker and a lonely giant. And then there is Pickle Girl—a saucy young lady, named for a thorny bush that grows out of solid rock and whose pickled buds are a condiment for wild game. The fictional story of The Star Namer and the Unchosen suggests how the Jebusites took over Jerusalem and became the stronghold able to resist the efforts of both the men of Judah (Joshua 15:63) and the men of Benjamin (Judges 1:21).

Peggy Miracle Consolver graduated with honors from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1968. She had three semesters of course work toward lay counselling in her church from Dallas Theological Seminary in the 1990s before her mother became ill. Her experiences of farming and life with three brothers/two sisters in a family with the motto of make do with what you have, gave authenticity and insight to the story and characters of the Late Bronze Age. Having taught Sunday School for thirty-seven years and reading through the Bible annually using Dr. Charles Ryrie's chronological reading plan for fourteen years, the Author gathered insights about the Gibeonites of Joshua 9 and 10 from Genesis 9 to Psalm 114. Among her extra-biblical research, the author felt compelled to experience the setting by joining an archaeological dig and visiting Gibeon in the Palestinian West Bank—an adventure in itself!
