This volume collects several articles by scholar Uri Zur on various areas in the field of Jewish studies. Topics discussed include different types of structure in Talmudic texts from a literary point of view, the study of the Aramaic language utilized in the Bible and the Talmud from a linguistic and interpretive perspective, the redaction of sugyot in the Talmud Bavli analyzed from a textual point of view, and matters of halakha and halakhic rules. The author also examines contemporary topics such as modern Judaism in Israel and peacemaking efforts grounded in the Pentateuch and Jewish tradition.

Uri Zur is a researcher in Jewish studies at the Department of Israel Heritage, Ariel University. His major interests in this field focus on the redaction of sugyot, tripartite structure, textual grounding of Halakha, Genizah studies, history and Aramaic language. Prof. Zur served as Head of the Department of Israel Heritage at Ariel University (2008-2010) and as co-editor of the journal Moreshet Israel (2008-2012) and still serves as member of its editorial board. He is also the winner of the Aminoah Prize 2018 for the book The tripartite structure of the Sugyot: Studies in Tractate Eruvin of the Babylonian Talmud (Ariel University Press, 2016). Among his other publications are several papers and the book Orr Israel (Habermann Institute for Literary Research, 1999).
