This is the story of an East End Glasgow boy with musical aspirations, DJ, singer-songwriter and wanna be nightclub owner.
With his Dad's encouragement, "That boy's heed is full of broken biscuits", and his girlfriend's support; "If you get a degree, I'll eat my hat", reality sets in and an unplanned career in property literally opens thousands of doors.
The evolution of the property Surveyor from school to college, training to qualification and the making of a renowned London practice.
A colourful and hilarious account of people and property encounters.
Some famous, some infamous.

Having worked and operated surveying practices in various locations, Roy established Roy McClure Associates in 1985.

Attaining a BSc in Estate Management in London, Roy is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, has a Surveyors and Valuers accreditation and is an RICS Registered Valuer. He is a member of both the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation and the Independent Surveyors and Valuers Association.

He has served on Government committees and periodically publishes property related articles.

Surveys, whilst predominantly residential, include offices, shops, garages, warehouses, sports clubs, schools, theatres, churches, hotels, restaurants and even a zoo!

Residential surveys range from studio flats to stately homes amounting to some 75,000 inspections.

Clients range from first time buyers to kings, presidents, governors, industrialists and celebrities.
