The purpose of Synergy of Bio-Chemical Processes covers the evolution of photocatalytic fuel cells. It assembles conceptualized critical assessments in the fields of sustainable wastewater treatment and renewable energy production. The goal of this book is to provide a comprehensive survey of the design of photocatalytic fuel cells and their applications, including environmental remediation, chemical synthesis, and green energy generation.

This book contains nine specialized chapters that provide comprehensive coverage of photocatalytic fuel cell designs and applications. An extensive amount of research has been conducted on photocatalysis and microbial fuel cells to make valuable energy sources and durable solutions to serious environmental and energy-related problems. In addition, advanced materials and processes from research renew hydrogen fuels through photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic water splitting and reduce carbon dioxide from air-fuel photocatalysis.

Sadanand Pandey, Ph.D., is a professor in the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology, Shoolini University, Himachal Pradesh, India. His research focuses on the disciplines of polymer chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, and sustainable and advanced materials. He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences, and he is an editorial board member.

Elvis Fosso-Kankeu, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Metallurgy, University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg, South Africa. His research focuses on hydrometallurgical extraction of metal from solid phases and sustainable methods for the removal of inorganic and organic pollutants from polluted water. He has won several awards, including the NSTF Award and Engineering Research Capacity Development in 2019.

Soumya Pandit, Ph.D., is a senior assistant professor at Sharda University, Greater Noida, Delhi NRC, India. He completed his postdoctoral research work at the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research. He works in the areas of microbial electrochemical systems for bioenergy harvesting, bacterial biofilm, biofuel production, etc. He has authored more than 70 research and review papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has organized several FDPs and national webinars and he’s a member of the organizing committee.
