'I loved this book! A love letter to Scotland and its dugs!' - ALAN CUMMING

Scotland has given the world some of its most distinctive and most lovable dogs. From the regal Scottish deerhound, the gentle giant of the glens, to the mischievous West Highland white terrier stealing hearts (and socks!) across the country.

Dog-loving Scotsman Peter MacQueen uncovers the history, quirks and enduring charm of fourteen remarkable breeds. Whether it's a Border collie commanding its flock or a Dandie Dinmont nosing through the undergrowth, these dogs are more than pets: they are part of Scotland's spirit.

Peter journeys from the wild Highlands to the rolling Lowlands, meeting native breeds and the people who know them best. Packed with lively storytelling, stunning photography of dogs in breathtaking landscapes, and practical tips for current and future owners, this is a heartfelt celebration of our four-legged heritage.

This beautiful book is a must for all dog lovers!

Peter MacQueen is a Scottish TV presenter, producer and author. Born and raised in Oban, Scotland, he fell in love with outdoor skills and living when his family built a hut on the Argyllshire coast. He has produced several documentaries and educational series on BBC Alba, Channel 4, and CBBC. He also presents the Gaelic BBC Alba series Cù Leis Thu? A Puppy for Pàdruig and Garradh Phadruig. His first book The Art of Hutting was published in 2023. MacQueen currently lives near Oban with his partner and international baker, Coinneach MacLeod, along with their Highland Terrier, Floraidh, and Dandie Dinmont Terrier, Peigi, where they are currently developing a new agri-tourism business.
