The resource emphasises the importance of happy, healthy and positive relationships. It looks at the life cycle of a relationship from finding a partner, coping with problems, staying safe and maintaining a relationship to dealing with the potential ending of a relationship.

Created by Alex Kelly and Emily Dennis as part of the bestselling Talkabout series, this publication constitutes the most complete and trustworthy set of resources available for groupwork focussing on relationships for people with special needs.
Alex Kelly is a Speech and Language Therapist and has supported people who have difficulties with their social skills, self-esteem and their relationships for thirty years. She is best known as the author of the hugely popular TALKABOUT resources which are practical books to help staff to develop children’s social skills.
Emily Dennis has worked in learning disability since 2008 in a variety of settings; residential, supported living, day services and special education. In 2015 Emily joined Alex Kelly Ltd where she works as a project lead in communication and relationships.
