This ten-minute assessment is the starting point for understanding a team's Emotional Intelligence. Each individul in the team completes and scores the assessment, and the results are then aggregated to arrive at a team rating. The assessment measures seven dimenions of team behaviour and performance: team identity, motivation, emotional awareness, communications, stress tolerance, conflict resolution and positive mood.

Marcia Hughes is president of Collaborative Growth, L.L.C., a firm specializing in emotional intelligence, leadership development, conflict resolution and communications through training, executive coaching, mediation, strategic design, and leadership and team development. She was the sponsor and chair of the international EQ Symposium which was held in Denver in October. She holds a J.D. in honors from George Washington University and a master's degree in psychology from the University of Colorado. She is a frequent keynote speaker and belongs to the National Speakers Association.

James Terrell is vice president of Collaborative Growth, L.L.C., and provides coaching in emotional skillfulness for individuals, teams in transition, and senior management. He is co-author of Emotional Intelligence in Action: Training and Coaching Activities for Leaders and Managers, and serves as a contract mediator for the U.S. Forest Service.
