An essential and practical handbook on choosing and mixing colours successfully.

Choosing and mixing colours successfully in different media is all about creating the maximum colour range from the minimum number of paints. In this comprehensive guide, the authors - all experts in the field - show you how to approach watercolours, acrylics and oils in terms of mixing, blending and diluting them to achieve a wide range of effects.

Whether you are an amateur or a professional, The Art of Colour Mixing provides a handy source of invaluable information on how to get the most from your paints in terms of colour. This is a book that should be on all painter's reference shelves.

Jeremy Galton studied Fine Art at the City and Guilds of London School of Art. He has held several one-man shows and has exhibited at high-profile events such as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions. He is the author of five art instruction books, including the well-known Encyclopedia of Oil Painting Techniques. His paintings are reproduced in many other art instruction books and he has been a frequent contributor of articles and product reviews in magazines such as The Artist and Artists and Illustrators.

Nick Harris has a vast amount of experience in working with the full range of paint media. He has taught painting at various levels and also frequently exhibit his work.

Jill Mirza studied painting at Camberwell School of Art and at The Royal Academy Schools. More recently, for sixteen years, she was involved in running an Art Gallery with her partner, Nick Hais and also has exhibited at various galleries in London and elsewhere, as well as in Art Fairs in England and Scotland.

John Lidzey attended the Camberwell and Hornsey Schools of Art in the 1960s and later began teaching in the same school. John has exhibited at many London Galleries including The Bankside and Mall Galleries, The Medici Gallery, The Thackery Gallery, The Barbican and The Royal Festival Hall. In 1990, he won the Daler/Rowney prize at the RWS Annual open exhibition and in 1992 was a prizewinner in the Singer Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition. He is a member of the Chartered Society of Designers and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
