Bruno has a friend called Shmuel. Like Bruno, Shmuel is nine years old. Their birthdays are on the same day. But Shmuel lives on the other side of a fence, and he's always wearing striped pyjamas...

Based on the best-selling novel by John Boyne, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a heart-wrenching tale of an unlikely friendship between two innocent boys. Angus Jackson's deeply affecting adaptation was produced by The Children's Touring Partnership and Chichester Festival Theatre on a UK tour in 2015.

John Boyne was born in Ireland in 1971. He is the author of nine novels for adults, including The Absolutist and A History of Loneliness, and five novels for young readers, including three war stories, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Stay Where You Are And Then Leave and The Boy at the Top of the Mountain. His work has received numerous literary awards and is published in over 45 languages.

Angus Jackson is a theatre and film director who has worked at theatres including the National Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
