Veronica Bennett has been an English teacher and a journalist, but now spends her time writing books for children and young adults. Her first book, Monkey, was published in 1998, and she has since written twenty-two more books for kids and teenagers. The Broomstick Bike (published in 2011 by Little Island) is the only children's book that’s taken her on a motorcycle ride, though! In 2012, this book was named a White Raven by the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany, which means it's a children's book that the library thinks is super-duper – and they should know.
