PRAISE FOR THE CAT AT NIGHT

'An underappreciated classic... This has some of the boldest pictures of any picture book... Kids feel close to animals - there's a natural kinship - so seeing the world through a cat's eyes has a certain primal appeal' - Dave Eggers

Dahlov Ipcar (1917-2017) was an American author, artist, and illustrator, whose career spanned five decades. She wrote and illustrated over thirty children's books, won the NEIBA President's Award and the Kerlan Award for Children's Literature. A true master of colour and organic form, Ipcar captured the hearts of children the world over with her unique and timeless stories. Until her death, at age 99, Dahlov still painted on her farm in Maine where she penned many of her greatest works and had lived since 1937.
