Professional cycling is a rich, dynamic and often controversial sport that lends itself to great writing. Some of the most famous and illustrious races were founded by newspapermen and The Cycling Anthology continues this tradition by bringing together the best in the business.

Volume Two is a Tour de France special edition and features original and exclusive pieces by leading cycling writers. ITV reporter Ned Boulting looks at how the Tour made it to our living rooms and into our hearts; pro rider Daniel Lloyd lifts the lid on actually riding a Tour in 'A Domestique's Tale'; Jeremy Whittle examines why, despite drug scandal and infamy, the Tour still intoxicates us; and many more.

Between them, they’ve covered hundreds of Tours de France and written dozens of excellent books and some have even ridden the Tour. Here, their work is showcased together.

William Fotheringham is the number-one bestselling author of Merckx: Half Man, Half Bike. He writes for the Guardian and Observer on cycling and rugby and is the critically lauded author of Fallen Angel, Roule Britannia, and Put Me Back on My Bike, which Vélo magazine called `the best cycling biography ever written’. A racing cyclist and launch editor of Procycling and Cycle Sport magazines, he has reported on over twenty Tours de France. Daniel Friebe is one of Britain's leading cycling journalists and a veteran of nine Tours de France. Daniel is the Features Editor of Procycling Magazine, widely regarded as the world's most authoritative English-language cycling magazine. His feature-writing and news reporting on a range of subjects - including the controversial topic of doping - has earned him an enviable reputation, reflected in his frequent appearances on international radio and television as a cycling expert.Daniel also collaborated with Mark Cavendish on his bestselling Boy Racer. He has also written for publications including the Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, FourFourTwo, Spin Cricket Monthly, Channel4 Test Match Magazine. Ned Boulting started his broadcasting career at Sky in 1997, working as a reporter alongside Jeff Stelling on the now legendary show Soccer Saturday. In 2006 he was given the Royal Television Society’s Sports Reporter of the Year Award. In addition to his work as a football reporter for ITV, he has now presented seven Tours of Britain, the Vuelta España, the Tour of California as well as the Tour Series and the inaugural Women’s Tour. He has contributed features and live reports on twelve Tours de France. He is the author of the much-loved books How I Won the Yellow Jumper and On the Road Bike.
