This book provides a survey of the history of Christianity in Uxbridge from its beginnings to the present day. The town has a rich history and is linked to national events such as the Reformation, the Civil War, the Second World War and the growth of London as a world city. Concentrating on the ancient parish church, St Margaret’s, the author also includes the emergence of the Nonconformist Christian churches present in Uxbridge to this day. This book gathers together many different sources to tell an accessible narrative of the Christian faith in Uxbridge from Roman times up to the present.
