Evan Gottlieb is Associate Professor of English at Oregon State University. He is the author of Feeling British: Sympathy and National Identity in Scottish and English Writing, 1707–1832, Walter Scott and Contemporary Theory, and Romantic Globalism: British Literature and Modern World Order, 1750–1830. He is co-editor of Approaches to Teaching Scott’s Waverly Novels and Representing Place in British Literature and Culture, 1660–1830: From Local to Global.
