This book will include line art in sepia ink for 70 off-white pages to color inspired by blocks featured in the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt Books. The geometric nature of patchwork quilt designs and blocks lend themselves perfectly to coloring book pages. The fabric line art has been rendered from actual vintage yardage. And, the blocks and quilt layouts could be worked up into actual quilts if you’re so inclined.
Laurie Aaron Hird is a wife, mother, homemaker and author. Having home-schooled her eleven children, she doesn’t just know quilting and embroidery, she knows coloring. Laurie, her husband and younger children live on a small acreage in the Wisconsin countryside. She is the author of three books: The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt (2009, KP Craft) The Farmer's Wife Pony Club Sampler Quilt (2011, self-published) and Farmer’s Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt and is currently working on The Bible Sampler Quilt Book (BIH 10/14/16) Laurie has a blog where she posts letters and photographs from her extensive collection of Farmer's Wife magazines. She has been a guest on the PBS television series, “Sewing With Nancy.”.
