A bloodcurdling howl is heard across a cold, moonlit moor; the spectral hound has claimed another victim. Sherlock Holmes, the world famous detective of Baker Street, and the ever-reliable Watson are called upon to investigate the legendary plague of Baskerville Manor.

This modern adaptation of the hound on the moor was commissioned by Nottingham and Salisbury Playhouses and Clive worked alongside Tim Bird (who created an ingenious projection design) and the director Richard Baron. Subsequent to this initial production, this adaptation has just completed its third UK tour in seven years.

Clive Francis is an experienced stage, film and television actor who has also turned his hand to writing plays. Clive began adapting for the stage in 2000 when he was commissioned along with Paul Minett and Brian Leveson to adapt the old Ealing film comedy The Lavender Hill Mob for the stage. In 2004 he was commissioned by Nottingham and Salisbury Playhouse to adapt Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles.
